ππ¨π° ππππ ππ¬ π "πππππ«," πππ²π¨π« πππ₯π‘ππ¦!The first message came into my BW Messenger this weekend. I'm often accused by some of our elected officials of being a "hater," but I think this qualifies as "hate" toward me LOL.I received a similar one during the 2022 mayoral election (the second photo.) In doing research, the person who sent this message has both a similar maiden name and married name to the person who sent me this most current one. I was going to publish this person's name but, like in 2022, I am partially redacting it, because I try to be fair., even to "haters." This person shares the name of a Belleville family, some of whose members appear to be devout Better Belleville/Michael Melham supporters. I didn't want this person's rude comments to reflect badly on the family. As an aside, I believe current Fourth Ward council candidate Michael Sheldon received a similar but much more personally nasty message, ostensibly from the same person in 2022. Could this be the work of a hacker? Maybe, but probably not. If I'm wrong, I'm happy to print a correction. The wording on both messages and the identifying info for the persons are quite similar. I don't mind people writing things about me or criticizing me; it's part of being a civic activist/local watchdog, and in most cases I find it rather amusing. But it demonstrates how nasty people can get whenever election time in Belleville rolls around. A rule I live by is to trust someone by the enemies they make.www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfWlot6h_JM...
